I changed my PC or my parts
Your key says it is already in use somewhere else. How to release it yourself from the old machine, and when to write to us instead.
If you replaced the motherboard or processor, w0a sees a new machine. If the old PC still works, press Unbind in the License section of w0a's Settings there, then activate the key on the new one. If the old PC is dead or gone, write to us with your licence key and the email you bought with.
What happened
Your key is locked to a machine fingerprint. The fingerprint is built from the hardware itself, so replacing the motherboard or the processor produces a different one — and the server sees a second machine asking for a key that already belongs to one. (A clean Windows install does not do this: the fingerprint survives a format, and the key re-activates on the same machine by itself.)
It is not a punishment and it is not a limit you spent. It just needs moving — and you can move it yourself.
What to do — the old machine still works
Release the key from the machine it is bound to:
- On the old machine, open w0a and go to Settings
- In the License section, press Unbind
- On the new machine, enter the key and activate as usual
That is the whole move. No email, no waiting. The new machine is refused only while the key is still bound to the old one — the release has to come from the bound device.
There is a limit: at most 2 unbinds in any 30 days. If you reach it, the application tells you the earliest time you can try again.
What to do — the old machine is dead or gone
If the old machine cannot start (dead motherboard, sold, stolen), it cannot release the binding, so write to us with:
- Your licence key
- The email you bought with — this is what proves the key is yours
- One line about what changed — "new motherboard", "machine died", "new PC"
We move the key to the new machine and reply. There is no charge.
Send the key from the address you bought with wherever possible. It is the fastest route: we can match it without asking you anything else.
We do not need the old machine, a screenshot of anything, or proof of purchase beyond the email address. The order record on our side is the proof.
How often can you move the key?
Moving a key is normal and expected — people replace hardware. That is why the limit is what it is: 2 unbinds in 30 days covers every honest upgrade and blocks a key rotating between machines daily. If you need more than one machine covered at the same time, tell us; that is a different question with a straightforward answer, not something to work around.
